I had the pleasure of working with a beautiful and sweet bride, Leslie. Leslie actually grew up in the same town as my charming hubby, and all went to A&M! This wedding cake turned out just stunning. Very simple in design but always a classic!
This cake turned out just precious! I love the color combination and the sweet details. This cake was for a very special 3-year old, Sarah. We did 3 floating butterflies coming off of the cake to represent her 3rd birthday!
This cake was for my brother-n-law, Brent's, BIG 3-0 birthday! I cannot believe that he is already 30. Haha. I will be there in 3 years :( Anyhow, my sister threw a HUGE surprise birthday party for him. We had mexican food and then went and played whirly-ball! What fun. Brent is a Cowboy's fan so we thought it would be fun to do a shout out of the Cowboy's for his b-day!
Here's another fun cake! This cake is for a beautiful bride getting married Thanksgiving weekend. Not only did I have the honor of making this cake for her, I also did her shower cake and the highest honor of making her wedding cake. Congrats Rachel & Hunter!
My husband & I are thrilled to announce that we will be welcoming our 2nd child in April 2012! We couldn't resist finding out the sex of the baby so we decided it would be really fun to have a "Baby Reveal" party for our family. So I made a cake that would tell whether we were having a girl or a boy. The inside of the cake is either pink or blue! Any guesses? Well the party was so much fun and most everyone thought we were going to have a baby girl, but...................................................................................... We are thrilled to announce that we are having a baby BOY!
This cake is also for a wedding shower! The bride is getting married in December and her colors (can you guess) are Christmas red and lime green! The hostess wanted to go for a Mary Engelbreit theme so I translated a couple of her patterns into this cake using the red and lime green. I think this cake turned out just adorable!
I had a great time designing and working on this cake! This cake is for a very sweet bride, Rachel Brooks! Rachel & Hunter are getting married in November and I have the wonderful privilege of making their wedding cake. This cake however is for her wedding shower. Rachel is good friends with my little sis Molly! Rachel's colors are deep red, brown and cream and she is going for sort of the rustic feel. I thought the feather type leaves was a fun way to portray this, as well as the layered flower!
I am very proud of this cake and the level of detail achieved! I handcrafted about 50 individual flowers for this cake and each one was placed on very carefully! This was my 1st cake where I had the opportunity to do gum-paste flowers..............I've been patiently waiting for the perfect bride! And Tara was the perfect Bride and was so wonderful to work with! In addition to the gum-paste flowers I also hand painted on the scroll work onto the sides of the cake. Congratulations Tara & Tim!
