40th Birthday

This cake turned out just adorable. I love the colors and of course the detailing!

60th Surprise Birthday Party

My sweet aunt Jeanette turned 60 this year!!! And her amazing husband & daughter planned a big surprise bash! Jeanette's family from Kansas made the long journey to Nocona, TX to surprise her! It was so fun. Shawna, Jeanette's daughter, had everyone email her a few words that described Jeanette so that she could make a art piece for her birthday present. So in the same spirit we decorated the cake in the same words! I love how it turned out..................except in the process of cutting out each little letter I lost some brain power and misspelled one of the words ;) But I'll let y'all hunt for which word was misspelled!

Nieces & Nephews Birthday Cakes

Have I told y'all that I have 6 nieces and nephews (with one on the way I might add)! And have I told you that all their birthdays fall between the months of July-September :) So as you can imagine I am a busy Aunt during the summer months! This year we did a very causal birthday party over lunch celebrating Combs & Southard cousins and so naturally I did a cake for each of them with something that they love!

NY & Texas Cake

This was a fun cake to work on! The party boy was turning 70 years old - what a thing to celebrate! The birthday boy grew up in New York but has spent the last 30 years in Texas so they wanted a birthday cake to represent the two states! Half the cake was decorated in New York themed items complete with the NY skyline and then the other half was decorated in TX themed items with the Dallas skyline!

Choo-choo themed cake

I had the pleasure of working with the Walden family again on one of their grandson's 1st birthday cakes! I think there about as many grand kids in their family as in mine! Oliver was having a train themed party so I decorated the cake to match the invites. I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Spring Flower Cupcakes

I really enjoy doing cupcakes, especially when they turn out this cute :)

50 is the new 30 :)

I LOVE working on cakes for my sweet, sweet friend Casey...........she is hilarious! Last year I made a bustier cake for her momma and this year she asked me to make a cake for her sister's 50th birthday. But as you can tell from the cake she did not want to disclose her sister's age. haha. I hope her sister liked it!

Meredith & Charlie's One Year Anniversary

I can't believe one of my brides celebrated her one-year anniversary in June..............time sure does fly! Time does fly because I realized I had not updated my blog in 3 months. Sheesh. And I've done a few cakes from then to now. Haha.

Romantic Rosette Cake

This birthday cake was for one of my favorite customers, Hannah Sultemeier! I love making cakes for the Sultemeier family, they are just so sweet and generous! Two words that I would use to describe Hannah's style is romantic and anthropology! She is absolutely beautiful and so I wanted her b-day cake to be beautiful too! The bottom tier is covered in Rosettes and the top tier had a simple comb design with a fondant ribbon and 3D flower.

Graduation "Hat" cakes

I had the privilege of working on two graduation cakes for Best friends, Betsy & Maddie! We did the bottom tier to represent their High school, Liberty Christian School, and then the middle tier represented the college that they will be attending in the fall and then the top tier was a graduation hat. I think they turned out super adorable!

Pinwheel Cake

I LOVE how this cake turned out! This cake was for a very special little girl, Minnie, who turned 1 on May 20th. We had such a fun time attending her "Pinwheel & Pearls" themed party. This pinwheel cake was actually her smash cake and we did cupcakes for the rest of the party guests!

Baseball Cake

I have fallen behind in my blogging but I am slowly getting back into the swing of things after my husband and I welcomed our 2nd son, Beau Steven, almost 10 weeks ago! This cake I did at the beginning of May for a sweet little boy, Riley. I did a really fun Toy Story cake for Riley last year so I was so excited to work on his 6th birthday cake! As you can see we did a baseball theme cake! I found this idea online and just thought it was too cute not to replicate!

Brobee Cake

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy working on kids' birthday cakes! I LOVE kids' birthday cakes, they are always so much fun! Anyhow, this cake was for a some great family friends who are celebrating the 2nd birthday of their sweet grand-daughter Lily. They were needing a cake to serve 50-60 people so I carved a big Brobee image out of a large sheet cake. I think it turned out so cute!

Anthropologie themed cake

This beautiful cake was for a very special bride-to-be, EB! EB will be the future Mrs. Combs and my sister, Rachel's, future sister-n-law. I just love the Combs family! They are like family to me and I am so happy for Jonathan and EB. I love how this design turned out! My sister Rachel actually found the design on Pinterest but we tweaked it a little with the colors. I think the ribbon roses turned out just spectacular!

Mario Bros. Cupcakes

I LOVED working on these cupcakes! It was so much fun to capture the characters from Mario Bros. This was a last minute order so I had to call on the assistance of my wonderful hubby to help me knock out these designs. It was a lot of work to create each character but completely worth it! Happy 5th Birthday Gray!

Zebra Cake.....take 2

I had the wonderful pleasure of working on the birthday cake of a very special young woman who turned 13! What a fun birthday & milestone to celebrate. Miss Tessa wanted to do a zebra theme cake, so I did the same design that I did for a b-day several months ago. I think it turned out super cute!

Bright Smash Cake

I had a great time working on this cute cake! This cake is a smash cake for a sweet little girl who is turning 1 years old! I hope that she enjoyed this yummy cake! You can check out my sis' blog to see the cute pics of her tearing into the cake! http://stephaniesouthardphotography.blogspot.com/

Baby Onesie Shower Cake

I think this might be my new favorite cake design! I love doing theme cakes or working the design into the overall concept of the event, it is such a fun challenge! Anyhow, I think this cake turned out just adorable. This cake is for some very dear friends who are expecting there first baby this March! It is fun because she and I are only 5 weeks apart in our pregnancies, both expecting little boys and they will sort of share names......their son will be named Grayson Beau and our little guy will be Beau Steven. I was thrilled to make Tara's shower cake and even more excited to attend the shower today!!!!

Butterfly Petit Fours

Oh petit fours! This was my first experience with petit fours and while I think they turned out oh so cute.....I found that they take sooooo very much time. I don't know that this is my cup of tea but I did have a great time working on them and even more I LOVED the customer that ordered them!

New Year Eve's Wedding

I had the great fun of working on this New Year Eve wedding cake! The wedding was a very intimate affair so there was no need for a large cake. Instead we did a simple one tier cake with beautiful blue scroll work on the top of the cake cascading over the sides. I also did a beautiful gumpaste monogram that stood on top of the cake, however, I failed to get a picture once I placed the monogram. Anyhow, congrats to the Bride & groom............I am certain that 2012 will be a great and fun year for them!
