Yum Scrum Cakes

I had the honor of doing the wedding cake for a very dear college friend, Tamara! One word to describe Tamara is "Anthropologie" -- you should have seen her wedding and reception decorations, they were absolutely beautiful and if felt like you were walking through Anthropologie. Tamara wanted her wedding cake to be sweet and romantic, so we did several different designs that were traditional and romantic feeling. I am very proud of how this cake turned out!

I love making cakes for my sweet nieces and nephews! This cake was for my adorable niece Kaylee! Kaylee's birthday is in August, before school starts, so she gets to celebrate her 4 1/2 birthday at school! When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted, she said that she wanted an Ariel cake...........so I did a mermaid cake. I love how it turned out!

This cake is similar to a birthday cake that I did for my mom but as you can tell I used softer colors and added a big bow! I think it turned out really sweet. This cake was for one of my little sister's very best friends, Cristina.  Congratulations Cristina & John on your upcoming wedding!

What fun I had working on this barbie cake! Girly, girly, girly! This cake was for a bridal shower, if you couldn't tell!

This cake was for my sweet momma! I am always interested in trying new techniques and I have been waiting to use the technique of painting on flowers for quite awhile. So I thought my mom would enjoy this design. To do this technique, you pipe on an outline of a flower (or any shape), then you take a wet paint brush and gently pull the icing into the center to get the painted on look. I then took gumpaste flowers and placed them in the center of each painted flower!

Here's a fun, girly Birthday Cake! I did three different color polka dots, as well as three different textures. The texture of the polka dots doesn't really show well in the picture but it turned out super cute!
