A Touch of Gold

It's always fun working with friends! I designed this wedding cake for a friend from High school, Alicia Perry! She is now the new Mrs. Beaver! Congrats Alicia & Ryan! I especially LOVE the gold details.  We did a simple white base color with very subtle gold shimmer scroll work and then a very metallic gold fondant ribbon around the base of each tier. The florist also placed red roses all over the cake. It turned out beautiful!

Ford Coupe Car Cake

Who doesn't love a good challenge.....................I know I do! My husband's boss was celebrating his 50th birthday so his wife emailed me and asked if I could replicate at 1948 red Ford Coupe Car! I was a little hesitant to say yes, but my hubby encouraged me to do it. One thing is for sure, I couldn't have done it without his help. He is in the architecture field so he used his amazing skills to carve this cake into a car. He did amazing. I then covered the cake with fondant and and added fondant details! I love how it turned out.

Wizard of Oz Cake

This cake turned out sooo cute! I love working on 'themed' cakes.........it makes for a fun, satisfying challenge! I made the 'Dorothy' shoes out of gumpaste and adorned them with red cake sparkles.  And you just can't have a Wizard of Oz cake without a yellow brick road.  What's extra special about  this cake, that you can't see, is that the inside is rainbow colored cake.  There are four layers of cake within each tier, and each are a different color of the rainbow: red, yellow, green and blue! I wish I could cut into the cake to see how it looks, but I guess I will just have to wait for a picture ;)

Boy meets Girl Shower Cake

I had the privilege of working with my of my favorite customers, Hannah Sultemeier! Hannah was hosting a guy-girl wedding shower for some dear friends of hers. So we wanted to merge the two genders in this cake! The bottom half of the cake is detailed in a masculine plaid pattern and the top half screams 'girl' with a fun floral motif! I hope the bride & groom liked the cake!

Simple - Classy Wedding Cake

I love fall weddings! Fall colors are always so warm and inviting and I love incorporating them on cakes. The bride's colors were burnt orange and chocolate brown, with pops of gold. We did a simple ribbon of burnt orange fondant coupled with a chocolate brown rope of fondant around the base of each tier. And we finished the cake off with Gerber Daisies placed sporadically on each tier. Congrats Lauren & Monty!

Funky Floral B-day cake

Happy Birthday Molly!!!! I was so excited to come up with a design for my little sister's birthday cake! Molly is a very fun, stylish girl so I wanted to do something that was fun and funky but still classy.  She said her favorite part of the cake was the zebra inspired flower, which was placed on the bottom left of the cake.  Happy 23rd B-day Mol-Mol.

Lollipop Cake

I made this cake for one of my very best friends, Alexis! She celebrated her 26th b-day! I have known Alexis since I was 8 years old.......we've seen each other through all stages of life and through life's ups and downs.  I saw this cake in a book and thought it had Alexis' name written all over it. Alexis is the most fun loving and energetic person I know, so I thought this fun cake fit her personality like a glove! She is the best friend a girl could ask for! I love her dearly!

Damask B-day Cake

I am getting the hang of my new Cricut Cake Machine! It allows me to cut very intricate designs out of fondant and gumpaste.......like the pattern above! I love having the ability to replicate the popular patterns available today. This cake was for my sister's mother-n-law. She and her twin sister celebrated their 55th birthday! Happy Birthday Patty & Peggy!

Rock Climbing Cake

This was a surprise cake order! I received a call Thursday morning for a birthday cake that needed to be ready on Saturday. I was leaving town on Friday so I whipped this together in less than 24 hours! I am very proud of how it turned out! The party was a rock-climbing themed so we incorporated that as well as the birthday boy's favorite T.V. characters 'Phineas & Ferb' -- Phineas was climbing the big rock while Ferb was tossing a rope! Agent Perry was looking around back :)

Shark & Mermaid Cakes

What an experience! A sweet family had two kids celebrating birthdays with a joint birthday party. The theme as you can see was 'Under the Sea'! The mermaid cake was for Stiles a sweet little girl who has egg and milk allergies, so I had to recipe hunt and find a vegan recipe that would allow her to 'Have her cake & eat it too'! It was an adventure but I am now pleased to say that I can accommodate those allergies.  The shark cake was for a 'cool' 6 year old boy. We wanted a fierce shark but not too scary. I loved how they both turned out!

Veggie Tales Cake

I did this cake for my precious nephew Kaden who LOVES Veggie Tales!  The way he says 'Bob' is absolutely precious. Kaden celebrated his 2nd birthday and had a big party with all of his best buds.  There is just something about watching 2 yr. old boys run around and tackle each other that is so cute. This cake was completely edible. Bob was made out of cake and Larry was made out of rice krispies and were covered in fondant!

Elmo Cupcakes

These Elmo cupcakes are for my darling nephew Kaden!!! He LOVES Elmo so it was only fitting that he take Elmo cupcakes to school with him and share with his buddies! Kaden will be 2 years old on September 16th! I love him. Stay tuned for his Veggie Tales cake, which will be served at his P-A-R-T-Y on Friday!

Birthday Cake

This was a last minute cake order that I got for a 1st birthday cake! I had a great time brainstorming and working on this cake! The birthday boy liked trucks so I did a little detail with the firetruck and his name on it! I hope that he has fun digging into this!

Colorful Wedding Cake

I had a fabulous time working with Shanna Wolf for her wedding cake! She brought a picture to me with a similar cake and I did my best to replicate it. It was a beautiful, tasteful shade of orange with deep purple and orange accents. This cake is covered in fondant with buttercream details. The flowers are a beautiful addition.

Superhero!!!!

Being from a family of all girls this cake sort of stumped me at first! I wasn't exactly sure how to make a superhero cake come alive and be cool. After much thought and googling pictures of other superhero cakes this is what I came up with. I think it turned out "cool" and I hope the birthday boy is pleased as well! His favorite superhero is Spiderman so I tried to make him standout :)

Peacock Cake

I had a wonderful time working on this cake. The inspiration for this bride's wedding was peacocks. So we did a peacock themed cake. The color was a vibrant teal with gold shimmer. The scroll work on the cake resembled the shape and flow of the peacock's tail. I had a wonderful time working with the bride, Heather Mercer! Congrats!

Trendy Wedding Cake

I had the privilege of working with a very sweet bride, Sarah Quiring (The new Mrs. Sarah Richey). She was a cute, young bride so we wanted to do something really fun and trendy to match her personality.

I love Rock-n-Roll

My Brother-n-law just celebrated his 21st b-day!!! Happy Birthday Andrew! His parent's gave him a guitar for his birthday so we decided that a guitar cake was the only way to go! This was my 1st guitar cake and I tried to replicate all of the little details!

Flower Power

I had so much fun designing and making this cake and I think it turned out super cute. I made this cake for my adorable sister-n-law Janae!!! She is too cute for words and oh so sweet - I love her. I am so blessed to have such wonderful sister-n-laws.

Sophisticated Baby Shower

Oh how I love a fun Argyle pattern. The mother-to-be had chosen an argyle bedding set for her precious baby boy so we did the cake to match the bedding! It was a fun cake to make and I think it turned out super cute and sophisticated!

Birthday Fun

This is one of my favorite cakes up to date! I can't say that I came up with the design -- I found the design on another website -- but I am so pleased with how it came out! I LOVE the color combination and the '22'! This cake is definitely designed for a fun person! Happy 22nd B-Day Hope!

We like to Shop!

What girl doesn't like to shop! I had the privilege of making my sister's 30th birthday cake. Rachel is soooo much fun and has an amazing personality so I wanted to make a really fun, trendy cake. My favorite aspect of the cake is the color combination - I think the turquoise and mustard yellow turned out really cute! We had a great time celebrating with family. Also, I have to brag on her husband for coming up with a really fun gift idea. He asked all of the family members to think of ONE word that described Rachel and then give her a gift that represented that word. It was a fun, challenging way to give a gift and you had to think out side of the box!

Cow Cake

I LOVE how this cake turned out! I think it is so fun and perfect for anyone who has a thing for cows :) I did this cake for my father-n-law's birthday. He is a rancher so I thought cow print would suit him just fine. My only regret is that I wish that I would have done a BLUE ribbon :)

Topsy - Turvy B-day

I have had the thrill of making my 2nd topsy-turvy cake! This birthday cake was for a very sweet, young woman -- Hannah! She was my youngest sister's college roommate. I think that this cake represents her very fun, outgoing personality!

Graduation Celebration

I had the honor of doing a graduation cake for a very dear family friend. I have known Kendall since she was 1 years old and I am still finding it hard to believe that she graduated High school! Kendall is a very beautiful, intelligent young woman and she is making the very smart decision of attending Texas A&M University! Gig 'EM Class of '07

Simply Classy

I had the honor of doing the wedding cake for one of my husband's co-workers! It was a pleasure working with he and his fiance' Nicci! Nicci & Matt got married at the Maple Manor Hotel in downtown Dallace, which is a BEAUTIFUL venue! For the cake we did a very simple design, it was iced in buttercream and had a very simple border of 3 strands of icing pearls, in magnolia green, grass green and candy apple green. The cake was topped with an Eiffel Tower figurine! I think the simple, elegant design of the cake turned out beautifully.
